Ten films by people from Birmingham which are based on music from Karlheinz Stockhausen’s visionary work Mittwoch aus Licht (Wednesday from Light). Stockhausen dreamed of helicopters flying, freedom and made it happen. These film-makers do the same. Watch Chadwick Jackson’s film.
“I am from Birmingham and enjoy many aspects of film-making. I am hoping to study film in London next year.
I love films, particularly documentary and feature films. I really liked the music when I first listened to it and am looking forward to creating a short film inspired by it.
When I first heard the music, the images that initially came to mind were – shopping trolley and a flickering light bulb. It made me think of a journey, potentially the journey of a man in his life.” These 10 films are a collaboration between the film-makers, Birmingham Opera Company and Ember Television.
